The fund

365 Capital is an independent private equity firm that focuses on mid-sized and well-positioned companies, headquartered in or near the Netherlands, that have strategic and operational upside potential. We work together with ambitious entrepreneurs and capable management teams to maximise the potential of their businesses. We actively support our portfolio companies in improving profitability and accelerating growth, both organically and through acquisitions, thereby realising long-term value. We provide them with strategic support, financial resources and relevant internal/external industry expertise.

The team

The 365 Capital team is headed by Boudewijn Molenaar, who has been active in the private equity industry for over 30 years. The team is further comprised of three partners. The team combines track record in large cap and mid cap private equity investing and portfolio management with hands on experience in investment banking, leveraged finance and operational improvement consultancy forming a well-balanced team with complementary skill sets and a wide network in the Netherlands and abroad.

Boudewijn Molenaar

Managing Partner

Boudewijn has been active in the Benelux and the broader European private equity industry since 1985, when he led ABN-AMRO’s private equity activities in Europe. Boudewijn joined Gilde in 1994 to build its LBO practice, having developed extensive senior-level contacts in the European business community. Boudewijn was chairman of Gilde’s investment committee for many years and holds numerous board and advisory positions. Boudewijn has been directly involved in more than 100 buyouts, varying in value between €50 million and €900 million.

Boudewijn holds a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Eindhoven Technical University in the Netherlands and spent two years in the Royal Dutch Navy prior to joining ABN AMRO.

Steven Albers


Steven previously worked at ING in the Leveraged Finance department based in Amsterdam, where he was involved in numerous mid-market buyouts and subsequent portfolio management, including add-on acquisitions, dividend recaps and restructurings. Prior to ING, Steven gained work experience and completed internships in private equity at Gilde Buy Out Partners and in Corporate Finance at Leonardo & Co.

Steven holds a master’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Hayo van Houten


Hayo previously founded Agelykon, a search fund and hands-on operational improvement advisory firm focused on mid-market PE portfolio companies. Prior to Agelykon, Hayo was part of the EMEA buyout deal team of Advent International, where he worked primarily in the Industrials and Retail, Consumer, Leisure sector deal teams. At Advent, he also played an active role in portfolio management, among others as a secondee at Mediq where he supported the CFO and EVP Procurement to realize procurement savings and working capital improvements. Prior to Advent International, he worked in M&A execution at Merrill Lynch and J.P. Morgan.

Hayo holds a master’s degree in Finance from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Reinaert Molenaar


Reinaert previously worked in Credit Suisse’s Financial Sponsor Group in London, where he focussed on advising large private equity firms on M&A and leveraged financing. Prior to this, Reinaert worked in Credit Suisse’s Dutch country coverage team, with a strong focus on M&A and the Dutch market. Prior to Credit Suisse, Reinaert gained work experience and completed internships in investment banking at Credit Suisse and in private equity at CVC Capital Partners.

Reinaert holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
